The Christmas Injury Lawyers community participated in a very special opportunity to participate in the 9th Annual Green Heart Harvest Dinner at Mitchell Elementary School earlier this May. This year’s event boasted a large crowd of over 900 attendees and raised over $40,000 for the Farms to Schools program. It was a resounding moment for students and families alike to come together and support the Charleston community and beyond.
The Purpose and Founding of the Green Heart Project
The annual Green Harvest Dinner is a neighborhood pot-luck style BBQ that promotes healthy food and community bonds. All proceeds from this event went to supporting the Green Heart organization that educates school-aged children on the benefits of growing fresh produce and the dedication and hard work that comes with it.
The Impact of the Green Heart Project
This program has been shown to have positive impacts on student enthusiasm for learning, science and understanding skills, standardized test scores, GPAs, higher-order thinking skills, and confidence in ability. In addition to increased individual success, students are taught the important skills of being an active community member such as civic responsibility, active participation, cultural heritage, and a sense of ethics.
Christmas Injury Lawyers’ Involvement
Our community at Christmas Injury Lawyers believes in raising a strong South Carolina community that shares our values of hard work and ethics. We’re so lucky that we were afforded the opportunity to give back to our community with an organization that provides students with unique lessons on health and the greater Charleston area. A big thank you to Green Heart Project for all of the amazing work they have done and the many successes to come!
