Bosch invest $260 million in North Charleston. The company plans to create 350 new jobs in the area. This will strengthen its position as a leading global supplier of automotive technology. It’s great news for the local community, and we are excited to see Bosch grow in North Charleston.
Mike Mansuetti, president of Bosch in North America said that his company has grown their electrification business globally and here at home. They have invested more than $6 billion into efforts to make vehicles more environmentally friendly. They have an emphasis on hybrid cars or those which can be powered by electricity as well such as plug-in Hybrids .
In 2022 this investment will result not only from increased production but also because they surpassed 10 billion dollars worth global orders for all things eletromobility! Mansettti went onto say how important it is locally too since we need these types goods if our region wants any hope for clean air standards future generations deserve.
Bosch North Charleston Site Grows
The Bosch site in North Charleston supports multiple products from the company’s mobility solutions portfolio. The facility produces high pressure fuel injectors and pumps for internal combustion engines. It also manufactures safety related items such has belts or airbags. California’s Bosch cary plant which opened last year employ over 1 500 people according to their news release.
The transformation of the site in Charleston, South Carolina is a prime example for others to follow. As part this process Bosch has provided reskilling and upskilling opportunities so their employees can prepare for production on electric motors which will be made at the new plant opening soon!
